we are proud to announce that we have achieved our chartered standard status

After months of dedicated work for the club to achieve its FA chartered standard status, we are proud to confirm that it has been achieved and that we are officially recognised by the FA as a standard chartered club.  A huge thank you to all team managers & assistants that have successfully passed their level 1 coaching badge. This is a tremendous achievement and every team now has a level 1 accredited manager / coach, which is one of many conditions the club had to pass.

The under 18's brought home the first piece of silverware for the club in an exciting and competitive 5 goal thriller at Meadowbank. The moles took an early lead with the first of striker Will's hattrick of goals, which settled the moles early nerves nicely and they were soon able to get in to a good pattern of play.

Keeper Zac saved a penalty which took them into the interval 1 up. It was not surprising that Bookham started the 2nd half strongly, threatening Nork's goal. The moles soaked up the pressure and composed themselves and got back into the game with their own style of play. They soon got their reward with the second of Will's goals. Bookham kept pressing the moles defence and eventually found the back of the net with the first of two penalties, the first of which was saved. The second penalty was saved but a follow up foul gave Bookham a second penalty.

Bookham made no mistakes with the second spot kick to bring them back into the game now 2-1. Bookham were soon down to 10 men after a straight red card for one of their players was given for violent conduct.

Nork then extended their lead with the 3rd goal from Will which should have given the moles some comfortable space in the score line for the last 15 minutes. Bookham  continued to put pressure on Nork's defence and eventually won their 3rd penalty of the game which they converted, bringing the score to 3-2. With 11 minutes of the game remaining it was tense to say the least. Nork hung onto their slender lead and deservedly so, won the game to bring home the 1st silverware of the season for the club.  Well played to Bookham who would not give up and kept battling to the final whistle.
